eServMon(Internet Server Monitor)
This PC program allows System Administrators to monitor their Servers from their Workstation or from home through email and it all works through Winsock.

While the program is running, it places an Icon in the System Tray and not the Task Bar. A Flashing Green Light Bulb-Icon means that everything is okay. A Flashing Yellow Light Bulb (Warning!) Icon means that one or more Remote Ports could not be reached. And a Flashing Red Light Bulb (Critical!) Icon means that a Server Could not be Pinged and could be down, although some Server could be setup to not respond to Pings. If a Server can not be pinged, the program will not check the ports for that machine.

If the Email Notification has been turned on, the program will Ping the Server twice, based on the Server Ping Interval, before it sends an Alert email, to help keep down False-Positives. When the Server comes back up, it will send a Notification email. The Email that is sent will not only contain the Server IP/Name, and the Port if applicable, but also the Server Note information, which is basically a comment field for each Server. This allows you to note what application(s) are on that particular Server, who to notify, etc. If someone is receiving emails from several different SA's who included them in the Email Address for Critical Alerts, then this would help to cut down on Confusion.

If you need to, you can change the default Port Assignments and Port Names, that are being checked, in the program manually by running the eServMon program at least once, then closing it. Edit the ApplicationDir$\eServMon.ini and find the [PortAssignment] section. Change what you need to in this section, but don't change things in other sections.

Also remember, that if you enable the "Create HTML Page" and change the directory from the default, be sure to copy the eServMon.css file into the new directory.

Note: During installation, except for the eServMon.exe, if prompted, DO NOT overwrite the files on your computer with older files from the install. The program was written on a Win98 computer so that it would also work on anything above that also.
